Happy Mother's Day
I am sure you
must have seen this on social media. It is a job interview for the post of a
mother. I can’t think of something better to showcase what and who a mother is.
For all that you do and
for all that you are, mothers, you are celebrated today. Considering the times
in which we are with many become super teachers and full-time caregivers – you are
applauded. Keep doing what you doing and may the Lord give us grace to see our
children full purpose and destiny in Jesus’ name.
Happy Mother's Day greetings from my mum
My thoughts are with
mothers who may feel unappreciated today or feel that they have nothing to celebrate.
Some mothers are sad because despite their sacrifices in raising their children
right, the children have not turned out well or simply don’t appreciate all
they have done for them. Some may be sad because they messed up as mothers when
their children were younger and now their relationship is detrimental to
everyone’s health.
To such mothers I say, move
on. Don’t stand the corner waiting for appreciation or affirmation that may
never come. Don’t sit at the junction of seemingly ineptitude as a mother; move
on. Don’t wallow in self-pity and guilt; get up and move on. Move on to realise
that sometimes no matter what you do, children still need to make their own
choices. Move away from a guilt-ridden life to forgiving yourself for failings
you may have had while raising your children.
Get up by beginning to do
what is right by them. It is time to get on your knees on behalf of your
children because it is never too late to do so. And if you turn those issues to
Him, He is still in the business of putting smiles on faces that have shed
tears for long.
