January Fatigue

 


 

The month of January is known for so many things as the first month of the year; some people have dubbed it ‘Januworry’. It is the time for many to make new year resolutions, the time to start all over, a time of renewed hope and aspirations and for salary earners a very long month to payday. The last pay was probably early in December and without proper planning must have disappeared with the festivities of the season. January is a month of big spending especially if you live in a country where the school calendar runs from January to December. It is time to cough up sizable figures for school fees, uniforms, books, and other expenses. In some other places, it is time to pay the annual rent.    

January can also be a very exhausting month, especially for us as women who over December found it difficult to rest for an unavoidable reason or perhaps simply failed to use their license to rest. With the second wave of COVID-19, fear of infection, death, loss of jobs, and so on, many of us have come into January fatigued, wearied, and in most cases without an idea of what to expect this year. The year 2020 played out in different ways for different people, but one thing is sure, none of us will remain the same. 

We can handle this year in two different ways – go through the year with fear alone or go through it by faith with Jesus Christ. I have no idea what the year holds for any of us – nobody does, but I chose to hold on to Jeremiah 29:11, Romans 8:28, and Isaiah 50:7. I know that God has a plan, and it is a good one; that He will cause all circumstances to work in my favour and that I will not be put to shame. At the end of the year, I will be able to offer heartfelt thanksgiving for His journey in the year 2021.

It is already the second week of the year and if you haven’t yet, you need to do the following:

1.     Look back at 2020 with thanksgiving. No matter what you went through, the fact that you are still alive is a blessing. When there is life, there is hope. Look forward with hope. Hope does not disappoint.

 

2.    Covid-19 has changed the way we do things and forced us all to think differently. Pray, think, and research ways of doing things differently and more efficiently. Put your hope to good use by actually penning down what you hope to achieve this year. Make realistic plans.

 

 

3.   Commit your plans to the Lord.  Trust also in Him and He will help you.

We may be starting 2021 fatigued in different ways, but by the grace of God, we will finish strong.

    Amen in Jesus Mighty name.We should all look back and give thanks to the almighty God for keeping us alive despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Many people lost their lives, jobs, properties etc.but God sustained us.It is not that we are holier than those who have gone but it is by the mercy of God. The year 2020 is a special year for us that we can not forget because the year turned things upside down for all nations but God protected us and provided for us and we sailed through to 2021.We thank the almighty Lord. Hallelujah.

    Everything written about January is true, but one thing I am sure of is that we need to commit our ways into God's hands since He is the one that knows everything.

    Let us rededicate our lives and increase our faith in God.
    Looking back to last year's incidence and what is currently going on, we are meant to always GIVE THANKS UNTO HIM. 2020 was a year of EQUALITY. A year when God revealed to the WORLD 🌎 HIS SUPREMACY. A year that there was no PREFERENCE FOR ANY G8 COUNTRY, SKIN COLOUR OR TRIBE. PLEASE 🙏 the SIGNAL is still on, let us continue to acknowledge His sovereignty.

Pray For Nigeria

GPS: RECALCULATING!

GPS: RECALCULATING On a certain day after dropping my husband in Johannesburg, I tried to get back on the freeway to Pretoria. I took the right turn off ramp or at least the one I thought was right until I ended up in gangster land. I had my children in the car; it was getting dark and I was scared. Eventually after several wrong turns I saw a police van. I parked and broke down in tears as I tried to explain my situation to him. He laughed, tried to calm me down and gave me direction to the freeway.   He said the right turnoff was just ahead of me. After over an hour of driving in a maze, I told him he had to lead me there.
