Merry Christmas

I asked my six-year-old niece about what Christmas means and she quickly informed me that it is all about presents. Of course, I agreed with her because it is true.  Christmas is all about giving and receiving presents. And don't we all delight to receive one or two? Christmas is all about God giving us the best gift of all - Himself in our form to reconcile us back to Himself. I explained to her that Christmas is also a lovely time for us to give God presents - our hearts and lives.

As we celebrate, let's ask ourselves if we have prepared our hearts as presents for the Lord who we should be celebrating this season. Or are we so concerned about all the other things that we can't or don't even have a heart to present to Him?

He will not take a heart filled with sin, bitterness, and unforgiveness but he is willing and able to help us prepare our hearts for Him by giving us grace to love, forgive and live for Him. In the end, we would have given ourselves presents of a light and joyous heart free of the burdens and energised to go into the new year.

As we visit with friends and families and sit down to Christmas dinner, let's prepare our hearts to honour the one we seek to remember. Take time out to remind yourself and others that Christmas is about a person- Christ. Bring out the Bible and read the story. Pray beforehand for love and peace around you this season and beyond. Forgive people in advance. People will offend you and so will you offend others. Be willing to ask for forgiveness and to offer it to others
It is the season for reconciliation, love and goodwill. Let’s enjoy it. Jesus is the reason for the season.

Pray For Nigeria

  I am one of those who believe that Nigeria will one day rise from her comatose state to being the giant of Africa not just in name but in deed. I cannot blame those who have given up on the nation. The horrors and killings we live through at home and the disgrace we endure abroad have done nothing to inspire much needed hope. As far back as the ‘80s, we were profiled and searched specially at airports globally for drugs. We thought it was a joke back then.   Today, we are named as one of the most corrupt countries in the world. So far ... getting lighter

I am happy to inform you that I am one kilogram lighter than I was last month. The huffing and puffing is beginning to pay off. I have not lost as much as I would, but I am definitely not where I was before I started this journey.  I counted at least 10,000 steps everyday. Some days I had the required number before noon and I struggled on other days, but I did not miss a single day in one month. I began walking around the neighborhood and I was delighted to meet many people along the way. People are becoming more health conscious. I saw young and old, men and women a whole family, couples, and singles. What a delight! The weight I have lost is not apparent physically, but it is a boost to my mental wellbeing.
